My first ever collection was special for many reasons. Catalaia was inspired by my friends that feel more like sisters, those who give me the courage to try the things that both scare and excite me. I created pieces that both uniquely stand out on their own but also compliment each other beautifully. I aimed to highlight the special qualities that initially attract us to our closest friends while also embracing the similarities that make us so close. Like a cool lake blue that serves as the perfect pedestal for a warm sunset orange. It's these colour combinations that I look for when i travel and help with my creative thinking.
I learned so much from creating this first collection from choosing pantones, creating my first pattern, vectorizing prints, to improving samples, and working with a manufacturing team for the first time. The most fun I had with the Sisters Collection was on shoot day where I was able to work with an old friend and amazing Photographer, Kimia Kordestani. The real life adaptation of my vision features a set of sisters very close to my heart. The day was filled with chaos, energy, and the epitomy of sisterhood.
